I saw I had not blogged for 3 months---not that anyone is in need of my bloggage...it just serves as a virtual diary for my comings and goings. Frida is occupied at the moment by my California lilac. She is making maximum use of her, and honoring what a sweet metal cabin the bread-van can be. I will continue to work on Frida towards burn '08, from June through July. The Band, still beautiful, has had to put up with some erratic behaviour from me, of late. Imposed isolation, road trips and feline rebirthing have brought me to some epiphanie around my art-freak self. If you still believe in Fairies, the DB Colony will survive all....

Valentine's Day on the lower east-side
Well---I have a fixed address! Living in Bend's lower east side, where the lots are large, the sky is a different shade of blue, and feral cats take down herds of the king's deer in my front yard. Probably not doing any work on Frida for a month, but my darling band.....lots of work with them. We came back from a little road trip to Hood River last week, and I must say I've rarely had better travelling companions, and I got to play with 'em too. We had Anastacia open for us, so it was a rock and roll circus package, two bands in one. Photos below from stage (River City Saloon) and breakfast.
Sweet travels east to India and Nepal, Laura and James...
happy day of love to all, and especially to my California lilac~

brilliant inspiration and unbridled dancing

friends from cuba stopped in this morning...they had managed to make it here entirely by water-ways, and called me from mirror pond. i'd like to integrate them into the weekend's birthday bloodbath, but not sure how. if i can get their super-cool truck into silver moon, and then we can party in/on the truck, and party in a bilingual fashion, not only will my boots be very light, but the reservoir of inner joy will increase exponentially, giving birth to a whole new genre of music. i hope.
butt-loads, multiple butt-loads of snow here!!
luv and down comforters,

drama in the hood
tuesday...running out of food. boiling my leather loafers to extract something for soup stock. local trouble last week tried to tip over the van. i woke up to the whole thing rocking back and forth, crap flying off the shelves. they were frightened when i burst out the back door, naked and screaming in a yoko ono primal scream.
why not sell your laptop for rice and beans, you ask? because this blog is more important to me than nutrition, sanity, or my possible curling up like a battered spider in the corner of a metal box on wheels, where, eventually, someone might come knocking, and say--"david? can you come out and play?"
snow still falling.....what the?

snow day.....
7:30 a.m. here in still mysterious central oregon...around 4 inches of snow on the ground. the moon is going down, and i am, if it is possible, even more adoring the community of funksters in this mojo-laden epicenter called bend. the positives of being uprooted, of vagabonding within ones own community, reveal themselves at every turn. though i'm not living fully in Frida, i am still carving out appropriate use of space within her. i don't have as much crap as some people, but still, the dung-ball i push about is large, considering i am one of 6 billion + on the planet.
goals for 2008:
*find a garden spot, communally. i need, i need (not just want) to immerse my hands in soil, and nurture plants from seedling to fruit.
*live as frugally as this bend life allows.
* fully engage in what the angels of manifestation have brought into my realm. life, despite the unknowns of the no-fixed-address part, is sweet
peace to you all,
and safe travel, wherever you roam,

no fixed address
left: Galley, flip-down desk (west German army cast-offs).
Warming up some...been getting sweet emails from friends abroad, which adds to the warmth. Left to do in Frida are windows, engine conversion, and a better way to heat. Most of what I own that matters is here now, and still the space doesn't feel overly cramped. Or maybe I'm getting smaller...I feel I'm closer and closer to re-creating the tiny home my heritic mother raised me in.
Minimal life is quite good. Thank you to those that nurture me, and contribute to inner joy.

Lots of Colony shows on the horizon:http://www.myspace.com/davidbowers
come out and play with us, soon.
peace,
db
