Greetings from mysterious Central Oregon....I began this public account of my journey (internal and external) with the intent to chronical progress made converting Frida the bread-van into livable space. Frida is a 1987 GMC step-van with a Cummins 4 cyl. turbo-diesel heart. Frida's first real road trip was down to Burning Man '07 this August. She provided shelter from dust storms and boiling sun, and kept nighttime temps at an even keel. She also carried all of our camp's common space structure, AND carried back all camp compost to Bend. Now, the goal is to provide her with the following over the next couple of months:
*windows
* insulation
* conversion to bio-diesel
*galley
* work-station
*tasty paint job...something in zinfandel red?
Throughout this blog, I probably will also shamelessly promote my art-job as frontman with the David Bowers Colony...not really a job, says my son, but a "career."
Thank you Paula http://chiptruck.blogspot.com/ , for inspiring me to begin step-van work in earnest.
